Days Between Dates

Calculate the exact number of days between any two dates. Handles leap years automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the count include the start and end date?

The calculator counts the absolute difference between the two dates — it does not include both endpoints. For example, Jan 1 to Jan 2 is 1 day. If you need to include both the start and end day (such as for event duration), simply add 1 to the result.

How are leap years handled?

Automatically. If your date range spans a February 29th, that day is counted. The calculator uses the Gregorian calendar standard, so you never need to think about it.

Can I calculate dates in the past or future?

Yes. The tool works for any two dates regardless of order — past, present, or future. If the end date is before the start date, the result shows the same number of days with a note that the range is reversed.

Why do weeks and months show as secondary info?

Days are always the precise unit. Weeks and months are shown as context because people often think in those terms for project timelines or billing cycles. The month count uses exact calendar months, not approximations.

What does the weekends figure represent?

It is an approximate count of Saturday and Sunday days within the range. Useful for estimating working days — subtract weekends from the total to get a rough business day count.
